RRE Hosted the Energy Modeling Seminar
Last week, we had the pleasure and honor of hosting the groups of Sonja Wogrin and Matteo Gazzani in Zurich for our Energy Modeling Seminar.
Over the course of two days, we discussed three pillars of complexity in energy system modeling: uncertainty, technology complexity, and time and space representation.
🌪️ Giovanni Sansavini shared insights into how to include uncertainty quantification in energy system models.
🏭 Matteo Gazzani discussed the necessary level of technological detail in our models.
⌛ Sonja Wogrin presented how time series aggregation can reduce computational complexity while preserving temporal accuracy.
After these keynotes, we discussed detailed aspects of the three pillars in various input presentations.
Many thanks to all participants of the seminar, and we hope to meet again soon!
