I analyze the life-cycle impact of energy systems and of carbon capture, utilization, and storage supply chains by modeling and optimization. I contributed to the Horizon 2020 project DMX™ Demonstration in Dunkirk (3D) by conducting the life-cycle assessment for a full-scale carbon capture and storage supply chain, and to the Swiss demonstration project DemoUpCARMA on transport of carbon dioxide.
David Shu joined the Reliability and Risk Engineering Group in 2024. Before joining the Reliability and Risk Engineering Group, David investigated sustainable net-zero energy system design and operation focusing on carbon capture and storage technologies in his doctoral studies. He earned his M.Sc. in Energy Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in 2018 for his thesis on the operational optimization of large-scale industrial energy systems.
